Damian Lewis wears Burberry Tailoring on 'Desire', the latest film by Jaguar

damian lewis wearing burberry on the set of 'desire'

Yesterday I shared the latest short film by Jaguar on Fashion, Frankly's Facebook and Twitter. I was as excited about the F-TYPE model the car icon was promoting as I was about the stars of the film – Shannyn Sossamon (remember her?), Jordi Mollà and Damian Lewis. The latter looks as sharp as ever in an immaculate grey suit worn with a crisp white shirt and a skinny burgundy tie, all by Burberry – how could it be any different?. All topped off with a slick hairdo that would make Don Draper proud.
Damian has been wearing Burberry to pretty much every event he has attended in the last few months, which is fantastic as we need more stylish men showing the world about true British menswear style.
The film, by Ridley Scott Associates, is incredibly stylish, entertaining and fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which fashion films often do. And the result is excellent – take a look below!

The Contract: A new short film by Pankhurst London

I had been hearing a lot about Pankhurst London's latest short film during my last few visits so I was really intrigued to see what they had come up with. Especially after having seen their last one a few months ago.
'The Contract' is the third in their series of Head-to-Toe films and carries on with the sleek 60's vibe that can't help but remind me of a Bond movie. The film follows a sharply dressed and groomed hit man as he makes his way to find his target at a stunning stately manner in the countryside. The whole story is not only beautifully shot but also styled to perfection featuring Thom Sweeney, Grenson, Manolo Blahnik and selected pieces from Mr Porter. If you add some kick-ass Dent & Co watches, my favourite Bentley – Aceca Coupe – and a cameo by Stefan Avanzato into the equation you get a highly successful film which represents everything Pankhurst stands for.

Alexander McQueen FW12: A Modern Man with a Victorian Soul

Today Alexander McQueen released their latest film directed by Marlon Rueberg to promote the FW12 collection. The intoxicating music by John Gosling really got me into the new season's mood this morning. The collection finds inspiration in Victorian Britain, which has often been the go-to era for McQueen. Unlike the FW09 collection – one of my favourites, read my review here – FW12 focuses on the characters from the "pages of Vanity Fair: the dandy, the gamekeeper, the lord of the manor, the politician, the major general and so forth". Hence, the strong shoulders, the fur collars on coats and jackets, the equestrian and military features that speak of a powerful man.
Henry Pedro-Wright, Ysham Avdulahi with Greg Buckley, Kumi Keazor, Alex Bennett & Jermaine Josephs, the models featured in the video, help give the collection a really contemporary feel, almost street, if you will. I could really wear any of these pieces on a normal day to the office.

My favourite thing about the collection is, perhaps, the colour palette. Black, oxblood, ivory, grey and inky blues make for a perfect winter wardrobe. Especially when added to the amazing textures like the silk moiré and jacquard of the McQueen collection. If you are looking for an evening look next season, this is the brand to go to.

This new season McQueen is also offering a special bespoke service at their Bond Street Store – "Huntsman for Alexander McQueen Saville Row". One can only imagine what that would be like.

'Stepping Out' with Jimmy Choo and Mr Porter

You might remember how Jimmy Choo and Mr Porter already partnered back in June to celebrate the kick off of the first ever London Collections: Men. Well, they have got together again to create an exclusive video for Mr Porter to showcase Jimmy Choo's FW12 collection. It is clear from the first second of the video that we are back to the London of the 60's – the early part of the decade where a certain air of the 50's was still lingering around. It would probably be best described as a Mad Men world.
The two characters take us through their stylish day geared up in Jimmy Choos – from Barbican to Mayfair to Soho with a couple of wardrobe changes as a real dandy would do. My absolute favourites are the Brompton brogue Chelsea boots and the St James monk-strap shoes.

Buy all the Jimmy Choo styles at Mr Porter.

London Collections: Men

After the last few season's of menswear shows at London Fashion Weeks I knew that it wouldn't be too long before people realised that having only one day after the womenswear shows wouldn't be enough. London's menswear has always been renowned around the world and now it is again because the array of designers bring the best from tailoring and the country's street style influence.
This is exactly the reason why I have been so fascinated with the shows for the last couple of years. So it is so refreshing that from June the British Fashion Council will hold London Collections: Men. What will effectively be London's menswear fashion week will add to the calendar kicking it off, taking this privilege from Pitti in Florence.
I am extremely excited to see who else is added to the schedule and which special projects, collaborations and unforgettable shows will spring out of it.

Frank Loves: Raf Simons FW11

I found this video through Tommy Ton's twitter a couple of days ago. He mentioned how with videos like this we wouldn't really need fashion shows. And, after watching it, you kind of have to agree with him. The shows are a great experience but if we had videos the likes of this one for every collection we could just all stay home for fashion week.
The video also reminded me how much I love Raf Simons. I would say that him, Dries van Noten and Nicolas Ghesquière are my favourite designers. I just love what Simons does with shapes and colours. Watching the video of his FW11 collection I was simply in awe of how he continues to innovate. And I'd say it's a good sign when you can think about more than just buying or wearing clothes.

The art of DE

The film below was part of A. Sauvage's SS11 collection presentation during last London Fashion Week. Not only the film's style is fantastic but the collection pieces are stunning. It seems to be all about classic wardrobe staples with a slight twist to always abide to the "art of DE", the Dress Easy.

Peroxide Swagger

A couple of weeks ago I came across a video of Mark Ronson dying his hair platinum blond for the latest cover of Blackbook magazine. It was an interesting transformation to witness because I had been thinking of doing the same on myself for a while. But I'll leave that for next summer. The thing is Mark looked even more dapper (if possible) with an extreme 50's haircut to go with the new colour.

More recently, we can see Mark in his latest musical collaboration with The Business Intl on 'The Bike Song' where his hair is a bit shorter and more peroxide blond. It looks cooler and more masculine and it really makes a statement with 50's/60's casual outfits. You can watch the video here.
