Kenzo x Vans Spring/Summer 2013
Earlier this week Kenzo launched their 4th sneaker in collaboration with Vans for Spring/Summer 2013. You know I have been a great fan since their first ever collection almost a year ago. My SS12 Kenzo x Vans proved to be amazing quality and an injection of fun to any outfit. After making a mistake in size with my desired FW12 pair and missing out on the whole line I feel like I should treat myself to one of the new models.
The new collection – Tiger Fever – is all about slightly abstract 'cloudy' leopard print. And for the first time the collaboration offers not only the Vans Authentic but the classic slip-on model too. I'm more of a lace-up fan myself and, after much consideration, I will be going for the orange and green model – my two favourite colours. Keep an eye out, the SS13 collection will be dropping any moment on Kenzo.com!

A Closer Look at Burberry Prorsum F/W13
Today Christopher Bailey presented his latest fashion offering for Burberry in London. Even though it was the womenswear collection, the designer likes to give a few tastes of the menswear collection showed earlier this year. If, like me, the Burberry show today left you wanting more this post should help.
Back in January I visited the Burberry showroom in Milan to have a closer look at the new FW13 collection, one of my favourites together with SS09 and FW10. Together with the classic but beautifully modern outerwear – always Burberry's best – the brand introduced a few new trends for the new season. At the top of my list are the heart-printed items, which are fun, young and cool – so much so in fact that Harry Styles was the lucky one to first sport one of the shirts in public. My personal favourites were the v-neck jumpers closely followed by the ties. I could buy the entire selection. Another highlight were the basic polo shirts spiced up by leopard-printed heart motifs (I need one!).
Slightly less wearable but equally cool were the translucent trench coats and macs, which I absolutely loved and actually thought quite practical as they are 100% waterproof and perfect for the London weather.
If you fancy it, you can watch the Burberry Prorsum FW13 womenswear show here and see some of my snaps of the show on my Instagram account.
The other big trend of the collection were animal prints, which I found quite unexpected at Burberry. Loud as they can be, Bailey managed to include them in a very timeless chic manner, which made even the fully printed pony skin jackets feel like classics. The dashes of leopard and cheetah also made an appearance on pointy lace-up shoes, shirts, ties (!) and the new range of Burberry bags.

Burberry Porsum F/W13: We ♥ Burberry Classics
The FW13 Burberry Prorsum collection was one of my favourites, together with SS09 and FW10. A viral email from Christopher Bailey sent before the show with subject 'I ♥ Classics' announced the new collection would be a celebration of Burberry classics and heritage outerwear.
Some critics have labelled the collection as predictable. The way I see it, Burberry has had such purpose and direction over the last few years that the last thing I expected was a turn to its most essential, and successful, roots. My favourite were, in fact, these allegedly more commercial pieces. The trench coats, overcoats and duffle coats were impeccable and strong – pieces to keep forever.
Bailey's twist for FW13 was the (unexpected) introduction of animal prints as full leopard printed pony skin overcoats but also quieter collar details I found elegant and humorous.
Having opened their first menswear-only store late last year Burberry put great strength in the tailoring. The silhouettes, slim and easy to wear and much after my own heart, were very in touch with the times and with the type of guy the Burberry customer should be.
The heart prints that closed the show were my personal favourite. There was something so modern and masculine about the suit shirts and v-neck jumpers. They will be, I'm sure, an instant hit.
Just as they have been doing lately, Burberry streamed their FW13 show online and on iPhones and iPads and held a special screening at their new Regent Street flagship store. Users around the world were also given the chance to purchase online pieces right off the runway for a week after the show.
Back in Milan, Greg James, Harry and Luke Treadaway were amongst the famous faces to grace the front row. They were joined by the dapper Tinie Tempah, who had his big London 2012 moment at the Olympics wearing Burberry.
Stay tuned for a closer look at the Burberry FW13 collection from the brand's Milan showroom.
