Most Stylish of the Week: JT and 1D do the Brits, Tinie wears Burberry

MSOTW23Feb

Most of this week's style hits come straight from the 'streets' of London. Burberry Prorsum wowed everyone once again with their amazing FW13 womenswear show and amongst the stylish celebrities to sit on their front row Tinie Tempah was the coolest of all. He wore one of my favourite coats from the FW13 menswear collection with a printed shirt from the SS13 line, grey jeans and pristine white sneakers.
Justin Timberlake was also in town this week to attend the Brits. I was hoping he would make an appearance at Burberry but alas... He did attend the Tom Ford show looking super chic in a plaid dark grey suit worn with a micro gingham shirt and Ford's signature black knit tie. Later in the week Justin walked the red carpet at the Brits in a stunning grey number also from Tom Ford with a more classic combination of white shirt and the same black knit tie. My favourite part of this look are the cuffed trousers and the sleek black boots, which I would often choose over lace-ups.
The reason why Eddie Redmayne is on this week's post is because even though his outfit isn't mind-blowing he still managed to look way more elegant than any other guy who made an effort. That's it.

Once again, I was quite impressed with the overall styling of One Direction, who also attended the Brits this week. The highlight of the group, for a change, was Liam Payne, who rocked the Alexander McQueen dragonfly embroidered cardigan I love. Louis Tomlinson wore a shawl collar McQueen tuxedo and, once again, proved he's got the best hair in the band. Zayn Malik wore a velvet TopMan tux, which he wore with a neck bow very much à la Brandon Flowers. Niall Horan went for an ASOS black suit with a mandarin collar shirt and silver Vans. And Harry Styles rocked some slim Burberry tailoring a a Burberry micro print shirt accessorised with a lapel flower pin.

Most Stylish of the Week: Derek Blasberg, Louis Tomlinson & JT

MSOTW17Feb

In the midst of award season we have finally had a great week of casual style thanks to London Fashion Week. Derek Blasberg, the most sartorially savvy editor, wore a deep red suit with a printed shirt and white shoes. A perfect example of traditional-meets-modern. Louis Tomlinson attended the TopShop Unique show in a TopMan fleck blazer, which seemed out of a page of Harry Styles' style book. His hair, as usual, was looking mighty fine.
David Beckham took his boys out for a (posh) Indian meal earlier this week in yet another of his now signature flat caps and proving that velvet doesn't have to be all that formal but is always chic. Justin Timberlake look his usual dapper self at LAX catching a flight to London for the Brits. This time, however, he wasn't wearing Tom Ford.
Jude Law walked the Berlin Film Festival red carpet in a velvet Prada tuxedo that fit like a glove. If only he could stick to this style instead of succumbing to his infamous v-neck t-shirts... And Chris Pine wore an über-classic black and cut-to-perfection and white suit combo by Ermenegildo Zegna, which he kept interesting with his rectangular specs, giving the look a nice touch of geek chic.

Most Stylish of the Week: Matt Bomer's airport look and One Direction
wears Burberry

MSOTW4Nov

I would have thought that this week would be a crazy one what with Halloween and the Twilight Saga guys touring around the world. But it wasn't. Perhaps we ought to blame this on Sandy too.
Taylor Lautner was the only of the guys to look sharp this week. I'm not usually a huge fan of the goth suit combo but I admit the black shirt and tie work perfectly with his textured grey suit. The fit is perfect and the subtle green touch of the shoes somehow works.
This guy saved the week for me because before I found this picture I was going to scrap this week's post. Matt Bomer flew back to LA in possibly one of the best airport looks I've ever seen. Even though it screams "I-don't-give-a-f*ck" we all know even these outfits take a little thinking. The colour combination is brilliant (shoes, jacket, hat, shades) and looks even better over the super casual blues of the shirt and the jeans. But it's the scarf and the beard that really give it the attitude.
I don't know if I've ever mentioned here how annoying I find Kanye West - now you know. But even then I find it hard to overlook some of his outfits sometimes. His Halloween outfit this year was as suave as it was lame, which reminded me of myself because I hate fancy dress. Kanye went for a chic sailor look that would have made Jean Paul Gaultier proud and that, frankly, should make him rethink his all-black dressing rule.
Also this week Vogue UK revealed a story on One Direction shot by Patrick Demarchelier. The guys look mighty cool in their head-to-toe Burberry attire. I particularly love that they're wearing my favourite polka dot ties. Hopefully we'll get to see a proper full editorial with them soon. They're definitely well on their way, this month they also cover the new issue of Wonderland.

Most Stylish of the Week: 50 shades of grey (almost)

It has been a great week for style thanks to the MTV VMA's, Fashion's Night Out, the Venice Biennale and New York Fashion Week. And if you add the world premiere of 'Anna Karenina' featuring Jude Law and Aaron Johnson, you get a killer combination.
Mostly every most stylish guy has gone for grey this season, which is always a great choice for the beginning of autumn and, while classic, it's much less boring than black.
Ryan Lochte, who is rumoured to be launching his own clothing line, proved he can suit up just as well in the dry. His dark grey suit and the soft touch of the knit polka dot tie and the nice glimmer of the brown shoes were perfect for his NYFW debut. I hope he keeps it up.
After consecutive bad choices in the style and grooming (and personal hygiene) department, Shia LaBeouf finally trimmed his beard and slipped on a pair of slim cuffed suit trousers. It seems that's all he needed to look fly in Venice.
Dave Franco is a lot less talked-about than his brother James but has a much cooler style. This week he gave a lesson in how to wear tailoring in a light grey suit cut to perfection paired with a classic white shirt and a midnight blue bowtie of perfect proportions.
Jude Law knows he doesn't have to try very hard to be the best dressed. For his London premiere of 'Anna Karenina' he combined 3 different shades of grey that made up a 3-piece suit for pros. Like Lochte, he knows that the best touch to a grey look is always a nice tan leather shoe.

I mostly unashamedly admit how big a fan I am of One Direction. There is something about their music that always puts me in a good mood. And it's always great to see them live because they're pretty much the best dressed boy band in history. On Friday night they picked up three awards at the MTV VMA's and gave another lesson in style, which is to say a lot when you consider they have barely made it to their 20's. My personal favourite is Louis Tomlinson, who wins this week's best grooming for his sleek, badass and effortless hairdo and subtle stubble.
