Leonardo DiCaprio wears Bottega Veneta's Intrecciato slip-ons

LeoBottega

Earlier today Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted arriving in Narita, Japan wearing a pair of blue Bottega Veneta Intrecciato suede slip-on shoes. I am taking this as a sign. I recently ask you to help me solve my birthday dilemma and vote for the pair of shoes I should get for my birthday. Taking your votes into consideration and this (god-sent) sign it seems pretty clear that I should go for the lace-up Bottega option.
Leo chose the blue slip-on model for a chic monochromatic look but the same shoes are already available online not only in the same colour but also in a cheerful light green and in grey.

Most Stylish of the Weekend: Aaron Paul wears Prada to the Emmys

MSOTW28Sept
I did not stay up to watch the Grammys last Sunday but I probably should have. When I did watch them the night after I realised how excited I actually get about television awards. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that approximately 40% of my week is spent watching American TV shows.
The best (style) surprise of the night was how dapper Jimmy Fallon looked in his tux. I haven't been able to ID the designer yet – it's a lot harder than with a dress, as you might imagine – but it was perfectly tailored for him, that was evident. I might spend some time and words trying to explain everything this tuxedo did for Jimmy and how this is proof that tailoring is a man's best friend but GQ did it first and much better so just read their's here.
Aaron Paul was one of the big winners of the night. He was one of the few gents at the event who actually stood out. His brown kid mohair shawl collar tuxedo, white smoking popeline shirt, beige bowtie with a matching pocket square and brown spazzolato oxfords were so refreshing against everyone's traditional tuxes. And who was it by? Prada, of course.
Probably feeling a little envy after seeing these two guys, Justin Timberlake wore a double-chested tuxedo later this week. It's true that it's not hard for him to look good in pretty much anything but I like the tieless element of the look and the sartorial if somewhat flamenco choice of the polka dot pocket square.

This week's Best Grooming goes to Leonardo DiCaprio, or rather to Jordan Belfort, the character he plays in Martin Scorsese's latest film 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. Leo has been spotted looking mighty fine in a darker and slicker hairdo than we're used to from him. Hopefully this is just the beginning of another brilliantly styled movie following in the footsteps of Bud Fox.

Leo covers the new Interview Russia

With all the Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar editions all over the world I had never thought whether anyone would take on franchising the Andy Warhol's iconic Interview magazine. It's been one of my favourites since I first discovered –definitely my favourite read– but I've always felt like it was quintessentially American and, hence, could not exist anywhere else.
It looks like the people over in Russia would like to prove me wrong and so they've launched their country's version of the magazine. I am glad that the news went along with the release of the cover because if they hadn't put Leo looking suave on it I wouldn't have felt this happy about the new edition of the mag.
I love the vintage feel of both Brigitte Lacombe's picture of Leo and of the magazine's old logo. I guess you can only drop the "Andy Warhol's" when you've gained enough recognition. But just the fact that such a strong cover covers the first issue says a lot about the country to me. I can't wait to grab a copy and see if the inside lives up to the outside.

They're Fly: The Men from 'Inception'

I watched Inception the night before I flew home to Spain last Tuesday. I had been dying to see it ever since it came out and I was not planning on waiting an extra week for it to be shown in Spain. It was an incredible film based on, I thought, a very consistent idea that didn't devote much time to the acting but and made the film more about the action. I personally loved it not only because of this but because I admittedly have a massive man-crush on Leo and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
One of the things that surprised me the most about the film was the painstakingly put together costume design of the male cast. Stiff shirt collars, cuffs showing under blazers when they should have, impeccable tie knots —everything very su misura. Even the casual wear, very cleverly inspired in the 70's, was just the right amount of scruffy. The grooming was simple but extremely neat and polished. Not an extra inch of sideburn or an untamed hair over the ear to be seen in the most perfectly slicked-back hairdos ever to be shown on screen.
