Milan Fashion Week SS15 Diary - Day 1

MilanFashionWeekSS15Day1

After over a year of missing the Milanese shows, I am so happy to be back in one of my favourite cities in the world to enjoy a bit of menswear fashion (and work a lot!). I arrived here yesterday, which was a fun but incredibly tiring day as I woke up at 4.30am to head to Heathrow.
Once in Milan, the warm weather and great vibe really got me going. After sorting through invites, I was thrilled to open a little something from Tod's to help me get through fashion week in style. After an early afternoon meeting it was time for the MSGM show, which is probably the best young brand in Milan. Massimo Giorgetti has this amazing ability to mix a bit of traditional Italian fashion with the really cool street style influences they have going here. It was a pleasure to watch.
I walked back to my hotel to enjoy a bit of sunshine and grabbed a quick lunch in my room catching up with emails before heading out for some more meetings. I stayed fresh in the Milanese summer with my new Folk short sleeve shirt, which I wore with blue NN.07 jeans and my Kenzo x Vans sneakers. I finished the day with a movie and a bit of room service and hit the sack early to recover energy for the busy week ahead!

Just In: Folk Cubavera Shirts from Mr Porter

JustInFolkShirtMrPorter

The London Collections: Men and the British summer are almost upon us – or at least the former is. This year I promised myself I wouldn't let either take me by surprise so I have been adding some SS14 pieces little by little to my wardrobe over the past few weeks.
The latest addition are the two Folk Cubavera shirts I bought from Mr Porter this week. The first style, a lightweight printed cotton, is a perfect piece for the hot seasons as it's a chic option to stay fresh. It's work appropriate, suitable for weekend fun and so light you barely know you're wearing anything. The second option, also in cotton, comes in a patterned, textured cloth that feels soft and is also very fresh. This one has also more of a 50's vibe, which I love.
They both work really well under light summer blazers or with jeans and shorts and sneakers. I am just so happy I have found pieces that while being subtle and useful also stand out from your regular summer wardrobe.
Stay tuned for my looks of the day during the upcoming London, Milan and Paris menswear fashion weeks.

Shopping for Spring Knits at Mr Porter

MrPknits

After these two weeks of crazy cold, during which I've enjoyed wearing my new shearling jacket, it's time to start planning the new purchases for the Spring wardrobe. Despite my best efforts, I didn't manage to get many new jumpers this winter, so I need a few new ones now.
I wear my leather jacket pretty much everyday in the Spring so I like mixing things up with cotton knitwear and lightweight scarves. I am loving all the texture Mr Porter is offering this week – subtle colours and a quiet graphicness.
