Most Stylish of the Week: Ashton Kutcher's & Jason Sudeikis Double Hit

MSOTW11Aug

After last week's great week in style I was afraid this past one would be much slower. But I couldn't have been more wrong.
I am yet to be convinced of Ashton Kutcher's skills in his portrayal of Steve Jobs but if there's one thing the actor's got down is his style. My favourite of his two best looks this week is a navy Rag & Bone suit, which he wore with a Pickwick & Weller white t-shirt half tucked in. These alone would have been a great call so when you add a printed pocket square, orange belt and tan lace-ups the result is what is (possibly) the best look of the week. A few days earlier Ashton had rung the New York Stock Exchange bell in a Burberry number. I loved the maroon suit, which looked classic but very much stylish paired with a lavender shirt and a striped tie that tied together both colours perfectly.
I hope I can be as sharp and cool as Jason Sudeikis when I grow up. This week the actor made a few appearances around NYC. The first, in a great casual-and-smart look I couldn't identify more with. He gave it his own personal spin with a pair of baby blue 'Do The Right Thing' Air Jordan 3 retro sneakers. Day later he dropped by the Jay Leno show and nailed a more classic tailored look. I am specially keen on the tie clip and the socks.
James Marsden seems to be on a roll. This week he wore a Dolce & Gabbana brown suit with a micro print contrast shirt. I think the fit of the trousers is simply perfect, though I wish he would have gone for more interesting accessories.
Debuting this week on the Most Stylish of the Week is Liev Schreiber. The actor attended the premiere of 'The Butler' in a navy suit cut with absolute precision for his shape. I like the fact that he avoided wearing a tie and how he used tan leather accessories. If you are going to go for such a classic look you better make sure everything fits like a glove.
Gabriel Mann always dresses well for his public appearances and, what's most important, he tries different things. I wouldn't say this look is a go-to for anyone but it works great on him. The key to pulling off a bow-tie in a subtle way is to make sure the colour isn't loud and the shape never reaches your jacket's lapels.

How to do Monochrome, by Ashton Kutcher

What has everyone been up to this week? Sundance has been quite disappointing this season, with celebrities not taking advantage of the 'alpine chic' look. There have also been a few premieres but I didn't fancy making a post full of black suits, elegant as they might be.
The most interesting outfit I've seen all week has been Ashton Kutcher's monochrome number above. There is nothing chicer than a well put together casual outfit with different shades of neutral colours. And so I put together a similar look, which is perfect for the Spring. Instead of Ashton's light tweed jacket, I have gone for a slim-fit classic cotton one by Canali. I've paired it with a slightly lighter pair of slim cotton chinos by Slowear and a basic white tee with a pocket and a wider crew neck by J.Crew. Even though I can't see the shoes Kutcher is wearing I would like to think he didn't screw it all up with an ugly pair of shoes. I would wear the whole outfit with a beautiful monochrome pair of suede and patent leather Lanvin sneakers or a simple pair of white leather Nike's.

Most Stylish of the Weekend: Ashton nails it again, Beckham's Missoni moment

MSOTW11Nov

There is nothing like a bit of cold in LA to make celebrities make more of an effort in the wardrobe department. Andrew Garfield, who is letting himself go a little on the grooming, looked great this week in a striped bottle green jumper, which just so happens to be one of the key colours of the season. There is a great ease about this look that I love.
Robert Pattinson continues to promote his vampire flick around the world and looking great while at it. He often goes for monocolour outfits, which means texture is key. This awesome Burberry jacket and quilted waistcoat adds the perfect touch of 'fashion' to his casual look.
Not happy with rocking one of the best relaxed looks of the last few months Ashton Kutcher went for take two this week. He paired dark grey chinos with a checked shirt in the same palette finished off with a red chunky shawl collar cardigan and red sneakers. I love how every item helps tie the whole look together, including the baseball hat.
I think is is one of the most flamboyant looks I've seen from David Beckham in a long while. Becks took Victoria to a concert this week and looked super fashionable in his usual subtle attire, which he spiced up this week with a Missoni shawl collar cardigan. It could have been borderline cheesy on someone else but it looks pretty damn cool on David.
Kanye West, who normally wears clothes way too baggy for my taste, looked great this week in a beautiful pair of slim jeans paired worn a simple white tee, a black double chested blazer (perfectly cut) and a super cool pair of Nike sneaks.

Most Stylish of the Week: Casual chic

MSOTW14Oct

I always get a certain feeling of accomplishment when a few of 'Most Stylish of the Week' match with those of American GQ. I guess it's easier when we don't have a particularly busy week in menswear.
Ashton Kutcher, whom I'm equally happy and jealous of for going out with Mila Kunis, went for the ultimate casual chic combination this week. A tweed blazer and plaid shirt is always a winner. I am not a fan of the shoes but I love the touch of the baseball hat and shades, which give it a 'Ivy League' vibe.
Robbert Pattinson's I-don't-give-a-damn outfits have become a lot more stylish since parting ways with K Stew. I love a bit of black and blue action and the slid back beanie tops it all off, literally, with a touch of boho chic.
This week we also witnessed Roo Panes' third lesson on how to wear a Burberry flannel jacket. First, he showed us a smart evening look, followed by an effortless scruffy but cool ensemble. Now it's time for the casual chic outfit finished off with a clean shave and a dapper pair of purple Jimmy Choo 'Hamilton' loafers.

The best groomed guy of the week is Matthew Fox in his latest editorial for Da Man magazine. I love it when men understand the power of striking the perfect balance between the scruffy and the polished. A stubble with a gel slicked-back hairdo is one of my favourite tricks for an elegant but not overly smart look. And this is exactly what the stylist for the shoot has done for Matthew. If only he kept it up off camera...
