Dolce & Gabbana kicks off London Collections: Men with a Bang

DolceGabbanaLCMfw14A

It's become something of a habit for Dolce & Gabbana to host the event that starts off each edition of London Collections: Men. Such was the occasion last night when, despite of wind and rain, the brand drew the best faces in town into their beautiful New Bond Street store, which they opened back in June.
Kylie Minogue and Roberto Bolle, the hosts for the evening, greeted and chatted with London's fashion scene usuals David Gandy and Thom Evans. They were joined by a great list of guests including Marvin Hulmes, Roberto di Matteo, Paul Coster, Charlie Siem and, my favourite, grooming vlogger star Jim Chapman.
We all got to see the Pre Fall tailoring collection – my highlight were the embroidered velvet pieces – while enjoying Italian prosecco and wines (my favourite, Nero d'Avola) and were all moved by a wonderful live performance by Charlie Siem. To make the perfect experience, the Italian brand had decorated their store with miniatures of some of Italy's most iconic monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Colosseum, the dome from Santa Maria del Fiore and Florence's Palazzo Vecchio amongst others.
It was the perfect way to kick off the season and to catch up with colleagues after the holidays.

Jimmy Choo celebrates the Opening of their first Menswear Store in London

Jimmy Choo Dover St -Ground Floor

Last night I attended the Jimmy Choo store opening at 35 Dover Street. The new space devoted exclusively to menswear is an eclectic perfection of 60's furniture and a mixture of textures – animal prints, velvet, marbles – that transports you to an exotic yet very chic world where all you want to do is buy glitter slippers, croc sneakers and camo bags where you can also have a drink.
The event itself was also pretty remarkable. The crowd was great and the music – provided by Richie Culver – and the drinks – provided by Sipsmith were spot-on. The vibe was excellent and everyone looked like they were having a great time (which is not the norm at these events).
If you're making weekend plans already make sure to fit a visit to Jimmy Choo in. I personally suggest brunch at Automat, which is next door, and a cheeky drink afterwards while trying out the most amazing shoes.

Burberry dresses the most stylish men at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards

EVawards1

Last night Anna Wintour and Christopher Bailey co-hosted the 58th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards at The Savoy in London. All the most stylish attendees were, of course, clad in Burberry.
Damian Lewis accessorised his stunning midnight blue number – my favourite colour for evening – with a pencil tache that added a vintage taste to his look. Nicholas Brody can do no wrong in my eyes.
I always get excited by Tinie Tempah's outfits. He is impossibly modern but also very sharp. He never gets an inch wrong on a tailored suit and here I'm really appreciating the sock-less touch and the velvet slippers. You can buy his Burberry London suit here and here from Mr Porter.
It's hard for me to imagine Colin Firth out of a suit. Come to think of it, he was probably born wearing one. His more traditional black number and velvet bow tie were equally chic.
Jeremy Irvine and Rob Pryor both went for really classic black suits. Irvine paired his with an also very classic black silk bow tie while Pryor added a bit of texture with his grey velvet one.

Burberry celebrates the first London Collections: Men

Roo Panes
On Sunday night Christopher Bailey and Eddie Redmayne – the face of the SS12 Burberry campaign –  co-hosted a private party at the Burberry store in Knightsbridge in celebration of the London Collections: Men, which came to a close that same evening.
Burberry always does the best events with the coolest crowd. A few of the Burberry boys and girls obviously didn't miss it – Edie Campbell, George Craig, Jack Sails, Redmayne and my favourite, Roo Panes. Roo is the face of the FW12 campaign for the house and I really like him because he's got this effortless flare for fashion. He looked great in a herringbone blazer. Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more from him in the coming months.
David Gandy, rocking a checked 3-piece suit and daring with pattern mixing, also attended the party. Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani both looked quite chic (love them in Him & Her!). And Miles Kane, who also provided music and entertainment for the evening, took us back to the 60's with his Beatles' bob and skinny suit.
