Most Stylish of the Week: Zac Efron, Penn Badgley & Shia LeBeouf

Either this past week has been terribly quiet in the menswear department or I am useless at finding images online. One way or another, this post is not as exciting as I would've liked it to be.
Zac Efron's appearance on the post is a bit of a cheat because he hasn't dressed himself as he's in the set of his latest film. But seeing that most celebrities get dressed, to a certain extent, by someone else I thought it would be okay. The proportions of this look couldn't be more perfect. I love the printed tie worn with the button-down shirt but my favourite part of the look are the penny loafers. Worn sock-less and with slightly cropped trousers they're the chicest option for the spring, specially if you get to play around with casual Friday at work.
Ever since wrapping up Gossip Girl Penn Badgley has taken scruffy to a whole new level way past chic. This week he seems to have put an end of his lack of personal hygiene and married the scruffy vibe with a relaxed yet cool look. I love the touch of the tuxedo jacket worn over the loose yellow tee and the brown Oxford shoes. Red circles on your eyes are never a good touch, though.
If you scroll down to forget about Shia LeBeouf's out of control facial hair his Prada suit and polo shirt make for a knock-out outfit. The fit of the suit if perfect and the slight shine and dash of burgundy of the polo shirt bring in a dash of refined sportswear. And the cast? Well, I'm more of a white clay and and crutches kind of man, but whatever floats his boat.

Most Stylish of the Week: James Bond, Spider-Man & Chuck Bass

MSOTW21Oct

If anyone had any doubts about why Daniel Craig is James Bond this should help clear it up. The super traditional colour combination could have been boring were it not for the perfect fit of the suit. The proportions are spot-on to the millimetre. I smell Tom Ford?
Andrew Garfield was really showing off all the new muscles he had to get to be Spidey. And who could blame him. I don't love the slight shine of his polo shirt but I like the casual chic vibe it has paired with the chinos and deck shoes. Also, another great lesson in grooming. When going for a scruffy beard a gelled hairdo will always balance it out.
John Mayer turned 35 this week and had a well overdue trim, which made him look 10 years younger and 8 kilos lighter. As much as I wish he went for slightly slimmer clothes I was quite keen oh his birthday dinner outfit. It's all about the velvet bowtie and denim jacket – a combo I will be trying myself.
The Gossip Girl boys have been filming non-stop for the last few weeks and have finally wrapped their last season of the show. In style. Ed Westwick showed us mortals a man shouldn't be scared of bold pin stripe suits. In fact, we should embrace them with a whole lot of pattern mixing enthusiasm. Penn Badgley, on the other hand, decided to leave his boring suits in Brooklyn and go for a beautiful Alexander McQueen suit from the FW12 collection. The tie is just a tad too short but that blazer is a killer.

Most Stylish of the Week: Grey hair & a bubblegum suit

I don't understand why Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn't wear more DC (double-chested, duh) blazers. Being fairly tall and having that sort of lean and athletic build he looks mighty dapper in them. And such is the choice he made this week for the New York premiere of 'Premium Rush'. I just wish he wore suits in colours other than navy – like R Patz or Ryan Gosling – or that he'd add a funky tie. But then again, if I looked that good I probably wouldn't bother too much either.
It looks like Robbie Williams is currently working on what will be his 16th comeback. Or maybe his last album was so bland I'm confused? In any case, he's been shooting his latest music this video and it looks like he might be sharing stylist with One Direction. He's 38 now, which is the new 28 if you didn't hear, and I love the fact that he's trying new things. The (TopMan?) bubblegum pink looks great on him, especially with the grey hair but a slim fit is not what you should go for if you're a teeny bit chubs, let's all agree on that.
The Gossip Girl have finally exorcised Penn Badgley after his style and grooming shenanigans of the summer. It's great to see his hair looking sleek again and his hobo beard gone – I would never hide my jawline if I had one like Penn's. He's the best groomed this week.

Most Stylish of the Week: Casual guys

Everyone seems to be enjoying chic holidays in the sun these past few weeks. Apart from me, that is. Luckily, there are still some celebrities out there who know that style can't possibly involve under-the-knee shorts, flip flops and wifebeaters.
Josh Hartnett hasn't been working much for the last couple of years but he will forever have my respect for pulling off his character's style in 'The Virgin Suicides'. He's been chilling in Saint Tropez this week and looking good. I love the fact that there's a neon note in there, like an unintentional trend, paired with classics. The worn-out plimsoles add an effortless vibe of which I'm very much a fan in the summer. Every man should have a pair of filthy canvas shoes.
Hayden Christensen has very much been in a similar situation to Josh's. He doesn't do a lot of work but he looks cool and goes out with a beautiful girl. Not a lifestyle I would say no to. This week he's gone once more for an apparently simple look with a touch of quirk. Not only the shorts length but even the man-cleavage is just right. I'm not usually a fan of baseball hats but this plain black one looks great with the sunglasses. Even the lace-less sneakers and socks, which normally I would hate, look pretty awesome on Hayden.
I don't think anyone would challenge the fact that Nick Jonas has always been the most stylish out of the trio. He always manages to strike the right balance between fashionable and masculine. This week he stepped out in New York wearing rolled up chino shorts with a semi tucked in shirt-sleeved white shirt and suede slip-ons. He's essentially mastered the perfect summer attire at 19. Here is another proof also from this week.

This week's best grooming goes straight to Penn Badgley not so much because his hair looks enviously good but because of his improvement. After all, he looked this bad a few weeks ago.
He might think that the hipster look makes him look cool but any outfit/grooming style that makes other people question whether you have ever been near a shower and soap are a no-go.
He probably doesn't realise his long curly hair and untrimmed beard give the impression that he's put on a few kilos. And you don't want that when you're 25, believe me.
