Frank Loves: Maison Kitsuné FW14

KitsuneFW14a

Ever since its launch, Maison Kitsuné has struck all the right menswear notes – or at least those I find most interesting. Together Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki combine the best of French cool and Japanese attention to detail with an obsession of sorts for Americana. To put it in my own words, the brand is the perfect recipe of French effortlessness, American preppy-meets-rock and Japanese savoir-faire.
The FW14 is perhaps the closest a brand has ever got to producing almost to the smallest details how I envision my perfect wardrobe. The inspiration is so very clearly found in rock and roll, from its iconic birth in the 50's (my favourite era) and following its evolution through time.
The silhouettes are mostly quite structured with a laid-back attitude. The colours are bold – plum, electric blue, striking green – and perfectly matched with checked patterns, paisley, stripes and, of course, camouflage.
It's not uncommon to hear people comment on the brand's high price point. Don't be fooled, this might look like every-day ready-to-wear, and it is, but it is also luxury. It is the luxury of wearing pieces of the best quality, crafted and detailed to perfection and scarily in tune with the modern style-concious man.

Pernod Absinthe gets the Maison Kitsuné Treatment

AbsinthexMaisonKitsune

Pernod Absinthe and cult fashion and music label Maison Kitsuné have collaborated on a limited-edition bottle of the world-famous drink just in time for the holidays. Only 1000 bottles featuring the illustrations by Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki – including their famous fox – will be available in the UK. To make things better, Is Tropical has created an exclusive track, All Night, which will only be available for the lucky few to get their hands on one of the bottles.
To get your hands on one of them, head to the Sipstor website and order yours. Once you have your bottle you only have to log onto pernodabsinthe-music.com, click on 'download the song' and enter your email address and the code you will find on the label of your bottle.
The experience of enjoying a glass of Pernod Absinthe while listening to All Night can only be topped off if you do so wearing Maison Kitsuné's super cool jumper of the season.
